Before the invention of the truck, train or canal, pack horses were used to transport goods around, particularly in country that was difficult for wheeled vehicles. This photo shows a rare example of a packhorse bridge in our area. It is a narrow bridge designed for foot and horse use but not wide enough for heavy carts.
There are two ways to discover this rare bridge. 1. the closes by car drive the very end of Marsh Lane by the Lincoln Farm Truck stop B92 0LQ. The café at Lincoln Farm does a good fry up 2.A one mile scenic walk park in the Lake Golf Club car park B92 0LB. Take the path on the right hand side of the clubhouse and lake and continue to the top of the lake. Locate footpath and continue to Tee and turn right and follow path.
